INDENTURED PERSON PORTRAIT 1850s ANTEBELLUM SOUTH.... This 1/9 plate portrait portrays and African-American MAMMY/SLAVE holding a WHITE CHILD...SLAVE Owners Descendant still for a portrait. Her FACE has been PURPOSELY REMOVED. That is not CHIPPING or FLAKING on the tintype.... It is smooth there, so it was done on the plate. ANTEBELLUM SOUTHERN imagery is rare and completely RACIST.
