Antique American Pewter Lighthouse Coffeepot, William Savage, Middletown, Connecticut, c. 1835 - 1840. This lighthouse coffeepot has a nice patina with a tapered cylindrical body. This is a very nice American pewter teapot in a lighthouse shape with a curved spout and a scrolled metal handle. The teapot has a worn impressed mark on the base that reads, "SAVAGE - MIDD. CT. - No. 2". This is the mark of William Savage who worked out of Middletown, Connecticut beginning in the 1830's. This maker is listed in "Guide To American Pewter" by Carl Jacobs, page 153, where a teapot was valued at $35 back in 1957.
