I wish I knew more about the history of this item, but I can’t validate anything about it. I can say that I found a very similar one that said it was from the mid 1800s, that it’s German, and that this one has a couple of flaws. It is missing a nail at the feet. Also, I believe there was another metal embellishment at the bottom that is missing. There were end caps at the edges of each side of the cross, and the metal at the top is missing some letters. The other one I found to have the most similarities to this one is listed at $180.
Again, wish I knew more, but I’ve done my best to describe this item. Please see photos.
