A beautiful antique French Napoleon III Boulle mantel clock dating to circa 1830.
A large and fine example of a French Charles X 19th century boulle portico clock comprising of ebonised wood, ormolu and semi-prescious stones, amongst other fine material.The clock demonstrates the finest quality of craftsmanship in chased and patinated ormolu and bronze.
The central drum case with enamel dial featuring black hand painted Roman numerals and outer chapter indicating minute marks is surmounted by a finely inlaid canopy held alft by four ebonised spiral columns terminating in ormolu chased and beaded columns.
The twin train 8 day mechanical movement is strikes the hours and half on a bell and is regulated via a countwheel. The bell, original chased ormolu pendulum and winding key are present.

Overall, the clock is in good condition. The ormolu is in good condition and retains a good colour.
