This is a beautiful Napolean III Boulle frame circa 1850's.Although this frame may be older it looks very similar to ones dating from the 1850's.This frame was probably created and used for a small portrait.The portrait would have been held in place by a gilt ormolu trim that fit inside of the oval cut-out.Regrettably I do not have the original trim or portrait!
