Beautiful French Faded Floral from the 1920\'s!
This lovely French floral textile is a very light weight, open weave, printed cotton. It reminds me of a summer dress weight material with an almost gauzy, airy feel. The design is a mid scale pattern with absolutely gorgeous roses and rosebuds. Each rose measures approx. 1.75\" - 2\" roughly. The colorway is divine with rich tones of Fuchsia and deep orange with a gentle fade …. so stunning together!The ground is a soft subtle dull off white almost pale grey dull tone. It’s not as bright white as the photos seem to appear.
Condition: It is perfectly clean and has a pale grey smudge near the side edge and some rust spots running down along the right side and one rust spot above a rose...all of these are shown in the pics. You could easily cut away a portion of the right edge if these small areas were an issue. When held to the light I discovered two very tiny holes and two very tiny threadbare areas. We are talking small, you may not even be able to find them.This lovely French floral measures 18\" wide x 32\" in length approx.
This would be gorgeous for a small window covering, table runner, scarf, framing, journal covers/artbooks/scrapbooks, lampshades, doll costumes/dresses. It is antique and extremely lightweight so best for a project that does not require strength or normal wear and tear.
