This listing is for an AntiqueJewish Pewter Plate dated 1770 with Psalm 113:3 in Hebrew in the center part pf the plate.
This plate measures 9 3/8\" across and weighs 1.15 pounds. At the top it is inscribed \"1770\" along with what looks like a crown sitting atop 2 columns. In the center of the plate is part of the Hallel prayer from Psalm 113:3 in Hebrew: \"ממזרח שמש עד מבואו מהלל שם יי\" which means in English \"From the rising of the sun until its setting, the name of the Lord is praised\". This prayer is said at different holidays such as Passover, Sukkot, Shavuot, and Chanukah. Engraved on the side are what look like 2 candlesticks.
This plate is marked on the back with 3 German pewter makers\' marks which appear to be an angel and the word \"BLOCK\". There are also 2 small symbols engraved on the back.
Condition: This 253 year old plate is in very good condition with some dings and scratches from having been previously used.
