Antique Goddess Athena Smoker’s Stand, Table Top. EXTREMELY RARE:

Exquisite example of a figural beaux arts smoker’s stand featuring the Goddess Athena with her owl, and 3 Panes as workers. This sizable rare museum quality stand exemplifies the ceremonial details that were thoughtfully incorporated into this piece. One Pan carries a basket on his back with fine wire straps to carry matches. Another Pan stokes the cauldron to hold the struck matches. (Notice the strike plate, ridges, by his side) the last Pan is tasked with towing the sleigh ash tray, once again pulled with the finest twisted wire rope. Notice the basket ash tray is removable to dump. Athena rest against her mighty Olive tree, the vessel for tobacco. The width of this piece is 15” and stands 14 1/2” tall. After talking with many experts, it is believed that this is definitely European, possibly Viennese and most likely bronze. Please feel free to ask any questions.
