Antique Judd Cast Iron Inkwell Stand Elk and Doe Circa 1920s:

This rare antique cast iron inkwell stand portrays a bull elk calling and a female doe on the lid. The inkwell holder still has the original glass insert inside. There is a tray in the front to hold pens. This piece has excellent detail, and the elk is beautifully sculpted. It\'s made of cast iron that has a beautiful bronze cast to it. It measures 5.5\" wide and 7.5\" deep. I found this beauty in the bottom of a display case in an antique mall, where it had been hiding for years. Though unmarked, my research tells me the maker was Judd Co., circa 1920s. On the back, it has the number 4989. It\'s in excellent condition, for its age. This hard-to-find piece would make a wonderful desk piece and it displays well.
