For sale is an antique narcotic medicine-cure bottle containing a Heroin-morphine cocktail to cure all your pains an ailments real and imaginary. It\'s from the 1890\'s-1905 era in sparkling original condition. Early In 1898 the company decided to change the Morphine to Heroin as a safer drug as was stated stated, (heroin came to the market in 1898 from the Bayers Co. of Germany), the aspirin people. This quack drug was advertised to cure coughs, colds, asthma, bronchitis, croup, lung disease, consumption (tuberculosis), sore throat & give general comfort ...with children included. With claims of just a small amount will give great relief. Strict government warnings were issued of it\'s habit forming properties and a danger to the public\'s welfare. Also the word \"CURE\" was banded from medicine bottles with the Pure Food And Drug Act of 1906. Bottle was hand blown in a mold with a hand finished tapered lip and sunken panels on all sides. Has no chips, cracks, damage or stains... none finer and stands about 5-1/8\" tall. Embossed front is shown, side has; LEROYN.Y. and other side has; S.C. WELLS & CO.
