I bought these in 2008 in France when I went over to help a girlfriend move from one little village in the Lot District to another in the wake of her divorce. She has a friend with an antique store and I bought these from him. So first of all I want to be clear...I don\'t know a lot about pewter. I bought these because I thought they were cool and they\'ve been sitting in display on my bookcase for years. Again, I do have some great stuff collected thru my travels but college...
So, that being said, all three of these are marked, tho, the decilitre is actually not made by the same company. I never noticed that untiltoday when I started taking photos. It\'s verysimilar and from the same years but the rim is different, as are the marks. The decilitre is from Lauren Freres Brevettes a Toulouse and is in good, antique condition with no cracks or breaks. It is bent slightly around the base. Unnoticeable. There are hallmarks on the bottom, the handle & under the rim at the top.4 1/4\" x 3 11/8\"W x 2 5/8\"D
The litre and demilitre are also very cool. They are from a company called Sylvena (accent over the e). Thereare hallmarks andtouch marks but the most interesting mark is just under the lip on the top front and it\'s a mark ofa handshake! There are stamped marks on the handles as well as marks on the bottom of both. They are bothin good shape with exceptions that never bothered me...the litre has probably been dropped. There are dents on the rim around the base and above, along the top rim, it\'s obvious that it has been bent andstraightened out. Itreally doesn\'t distract from the overall badness of these pieces. Thedemi litre also has a bend in the rim around the base but again, thisjust adds to the character of the collection. I would put the age of this set from 1800-1899 based on research done while looking for similar items.The litre measures 8 3/4\"H x 5 5/8\" W x 4 1/8\"DThe demi litre measures 6 7/8\"H x 4 1/2\"W x 3 3/8\"D
Something I do know about pewter tho is that it\'s made from tin and lead. The heavier the piece, the more lead. These pieces are heavy meaning the lead content is high. You don\'t want lead poisoning. Use them for flowers or display. I wouldn\'t advise drinking from them. This fine vintage item is offered with a fair and reasonable fixed price.
