Touching portrait of a young girl in a slightly rumpled and ill-fitting sailor dress, with sweet curls and a large dark bow atop her head.

Seated in an unseen chair, her hands are fidgeting in her lap while she looks at the camera with a drawn face that almost rises to a smile. Looking more closely, below her jaunty nautical embroidery on her chest sits a brooch or pendant bearing a portrait of a woman. Her mother? Someone else that was dear to her and lost? There isn’t any identification provided on this photo to give us hints. Only the photographer, Richardson, listed in the lower right.

Photo is in fair condition with wear and stains on the embossed card, some light scratches and spots on the image itself. Most notably, a deeper scratch as shown right near her mouth, and some near her hands as well. Wear to edges and discoloration on back of card as shown. Some unknown adhesion on back that I was not able to remove. Please review all photos carefully for best representation of condition and inclusions.
