Antique RCA Bakelite AM Tube Radio 15X (1940) COMPLETELY & BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED:
$100.00

Sleek and curvy, this pre-WWIIBakelite radio offers a strong and stylish look that is at once appealing. And, that is probably why this radio is so collectible and desirable. Justthink, this radio most likely broadcast the news of the USA’s entry into WWIIwith the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Thecondition of the cabinet is superb, with no damage nor mars whatsoever. Also note the condition of the bottom with all the labels in excellentintact condition. With six tubesand an internal loop antenna, it receives AM quite well with very goodsensitivity, selectivity and mellow tube sound. It is equipped with tonecontrol for your listening preference. Thisradio is also factory equipped with an"RCA" typeauxiliaryconnection for your phone or MP3 to connect to.Thereis a terminal to add an external antenna for improved reception for your localeif needed. And of course, as with allthe radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost attention todetail. Please check the reviews on other radios I have restored andsold.

The cabinet was completely disassembled and cleaned, then buffedto a wondrously smooth, shiny, and lustrous finish. The dial face/covergraphics are crisp, clear, and nicely lighted. The original knobs werepolished. The power cord was replaced with a new polarized one. Thephotos say the rest about how pristine this radio is and how well it displays.

Electronically, the chassis was restored, cleaned, and serviced,withallpaper/wax and electrolytic capacitors replaced withnew ones. Tubes and resistors were tested and replaced as needed. All controls and contacts were detail cleaned and lubricated.Wiringand other components were replaced as needed. The radio was aligned, peaked, and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the internalloop antenna.

This charming radio is now 84 years old and looking like it didwhen new. And, now that it is completely restored, it sounds like ittoo! It will continue to bring reliable enjoyment for many more years ifwell cared for. It is a wonderful addition to a collection or as a giftfor someone to cherish.Dimensions: 12x8x7".

IT IS STRONGLY SUGGESTED THAT THIS AND ALL OLDRADIOS BE UNPLUGGED BETWEEN USING AS A PRECAUTION.
