Up For sale is this fantastic early Cairns Leather fire helmet with a Steamer badge. The badge says Steamer 2 HPFD. The helmet has a a beautifully Detailed brass eagle that is also marked Cairns Bros. The helmet also has an orange Cairns Brothers paper label inside the helmet. Also on the underside of the brim it is stamped Cairns & Bro 145 Grand st NY. This is a gorgeous piece of early Fire Fighting history.

Condition is overall very good considering the age. I don’t see any significant leather damage. The helmet has received a overpaint in the course of its life. There is a hole behind the badge but only goes through one layer of leather but the display side is nice and displays well. Overall a beautiful display piece for a collection or museum.
