A decorative 5 1/2\" wide antiquechina souvenir plate from the old PROVINCIAL PARLIAMENT Buildings inTORONTO CANADA. It has a beautiful scalloped edge that is a very shiny dark blue with gold branches on it. In the center note the very DETAILED & COLORFUL pic of the old PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS. This is a very early AustrianVictoriaantique china / porcelain plate, dating back a good 100 years or more.

Plate reads: \"PROVINCIAL PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS TORONTO.\"
Backside of plate is marked: \"VICTORIA / AUSTRIA\", above and below the Crown logo.
Condition: Plate is in SPARKLING clean condition. It has slight wear on the gold gilt edges and a rough spot on the base, otherwise it is in good condition with NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. The colors are vivid.
Age: A TRUE ANTIQUE, ca. late 1800\'s - early 1900\'s.

Quite the desirable antique plate with all the colors and designs on it. Note that the backside has the \"Victoria/Austria\" maker\'s mark, this is one of the marks that antique dealer\'s look for on these old pieces of souvenir china that authenticates this piece as being truly antique. This souvenir china plate was likely made to celebrate the completed construction of the Parliament buildings in Toronto, Canada which were built in 1893. Or to commemorate the existence of the building (example, 1903 marked the 10th year of its existence), or given out to Royal members of the Parliament, something along these lines. These now serve as the Governor\'s residence. Old souvenir china pieces like this are always popular because 1) they always have the place that they are from, or advertising and information printed on them,2) have colorful scenes, pictures, designs, logos on them, 3) can be dated by the information that is on them, and authenticated by the maker\'s mark stamped on back.
