If you are interested in folk art and textiles you will want to check my sales daily for new, affordable treasures.This sale is for an antique hand-woven folk art towel from Ukraine called a rushnyk. These were important textiles in traditional culture and were used in many ways including as icon covers, table decorations, for presenting bread, and as elements of traditional costumes. Made of homespun linen and cotton and dates to the turn of the 19t century. Measures 14.5\" wide by 100\" long. There are many stains and discolored areas along the edges. I have not attempted to wash the towel, though I suspect most of the stains will wash out in a gentle soak and drying in the sun. No holes or other damages.
