When I first found this it was so dirty I didn't really know what it was! I assumed it was a Very Old Nativity and I was right. Once all cleaned up I began the restoration process. It is all joined together with tongue and groove joints and was a bit like a puzzle to take apart. The figures are colored cellophane that is cut into the shapes with handpainted faces and details and then backed onto a hard clear plastic. The Baby Jesus had to be completely remade as he was missing. The Cow was the only figure standing when I found this. It had a unique lighting source. You would turn the knob (dome) on the top to turn on the light. That had to be updated as it was do damaged. The Thornes Swiss Movement Music box (#126417) does play Silent Night, but it needs work. I do not know how to restore it and it has a fluttering squeal now and then. I don't think you will find another one like this! I am unsure if it was manufactured or homemade. It does look like there may have been a sticker on the bottom. (see last photo) It Measures 8 1/4" tall , 11" long and 6" deep. The Video is to show you how to change the light bulb if needed.
