This large light navy antique Victorian aesthetic transferware platter by F. Winkle & Company - England is wonderfully decorated with illustrations of cherry blossom, wild flowers, a parakeets and interspersed throughout with beautiful geometric designs and stars. This Melbourne pattern earthenware platter has a delicate scalloped edge and measures 17-3/4\" L x 14-1/4\" W and stands 1-1/2\" high from a flat surface. Platter is marked on the underside with F.W. & Co. and the English registry mark Rd No. 102018. This is a beautiful representation of the Victorian era aesthetic transferware designs.
CONDITION:Good antique condition with some scratches on front and back surface and crazing to the glaze throughout commensurate with age. There well of the platter has light yellowing of the glaze. There is a small brown stain along the underside of rim and some faint yellow staining in crazing on front of platter as shown in the photos. There is a glaze drop and glaze pop on front rim of platter and two glaze nibs on the upper platter edge that looks to be caused by hanger as shown in the photos.
