Up for offer is an exciting one-of-a-kind Art Nouveau designed Jean Pouyat Limoges Tankard Mug. This piece is finished in a marbleized surface with turquoise and gold gilt stylized designs reflecting the popularity of Egyptian and Native American motifs of the early 1900\'s. This piece is signed beneath the handle by the artist Fletcher S. Scott and is dated 1907.
This tankard is a perfect example of JPL French exported blanks which were then decorated in the US by some famous or not-so-famous artists who put their personal stamp on each piece. Unlike many that featured flowers and landscapes which covered the piece, Mr. Scott chose a simple and elegant design with an exceptional marbleized background on which he executed simple, yet bold figures.
