Beautiful Antique (Native American, Mexican)?? Glazed Platter:

This primitive hand made piece was found in a dilapidated, collapsing 19th century building located in the town square of a small rural town in Alabama. The building has since been demolished. I was told by the locals that a long deceased man had a antique shop in the building in the 1950\'s.
The bowl/platter is 11 1/4\" x 8 1/2\" x 2\". The under glaze colors are bright and lively. There are no makers marks that i can find.
