Italian midcentury bronze sculpture titled 'the bathing’and created by Marcello Mascherini (Italy 1906-1983) in 1957. The bathing and is mounted on a white marble base. Signed by the artist on the leg 'M.Mascherini' and initial 'M' on the tree stump Mascherini is known for his prolific sculptural works as well as his numerous bronze relief commissions for the interiors of Italian ocean liners, which he obtained through recommendation The sculpture is featured prominently on the cover of the artists catalogue raisonné: "Marcello Mascherini: Scultore, 1906-1983: catalogo generale dell'opera plastica (Archivi di scultura del XIX e del XX secolo)".
