C 1815-20 French Officer Epee Sword Ebony Grip Napoleon:

I am offering for sale a circa 1815-1820 French Officer\'s Epee Sword with ebony grips. The triangular blade has the W makers mark together with bluing and gilding containing numerous etchings of military motifs. The pommel is in the shape of a globe and the clam shell guard contains a Gallic cock standing among battle flats. A variation of this model is shown in the authoritative French sword guide titled Epees Portees en France des Origines a Nos Jours by Jean Lhoste as figure 456 on page 267. It is in excellent condition with minor wear to the blade. It measures 37\" long from the tip of the pommel to the tip of the blade.
