This complete Original 4pp issue has inside page headlines " "Important War News! A Battle in Progress near Sharpsburg, Md!" "Jackson Engaged by M'Clellan", "The Whole Rebel Army will be Captured or Annihilated", predicting a Union victory, also news of the Battle of South Mountain "A Glorious Victory", details of the surrender off Union Forces and Death of General Dixon Miles at Harper's Ferry, Virginia, with latest updates on the rebel evacuation of Harper's Ferry, a report of a Nashville, Tennessee newspaper decrying "Negro,Agitators" and the fear that negroes will rise up and create an insurrection if Emancipation is declared, also a report of the discovery of a of sectional rebel minie bullet possibly made to contain poisons such as arsenic although the description of the bullet, found at Manassas, sounds like an explosive bullet. On page 4 the latest update "By Telegraph" "Longstreet and Hill Defeated by McClellan!". 4pp with age stains, and small tears at spine where the issue was disbound, Overall VG.
