Note: Statements of editions and dates in my listings should not be regarded as conclusive. In many, or even most, cases, it isn\'t possible to make definitive statements on such matters. For instance, if a book says 1879 on the title page, it may have been published in a different year, like 1878. And even if 1879 is widely regarded as the date of the \"first edition,\" that does not necessarily mean that a specific example with that date is a first edition.
You are offerding on:
One copy of Conjurer Dick, by Professor Hoffmann. This has a name and date in it as shown in one of the images. It looks to me as though this may be a copy of the book that belonged to Herbert Albini. This is not a first edition. To the best of my knowledge, the first edition appeared in 1885 and had the author\'s real name and pen name on the title page and front cover.
Overall, this copy is in good shape and is highly attractive. The front interior hinge is repaired, and the rear-interior hinge is split. I presume that rear hinge could be effectively restored. The book is in quite fragile condition. It is evident that the binding is in some ways \"loose.\" I did not test it out to see \"how loose,\" because I am sure I would make it worse, and I\'m afraid that things might fall out. This is likely not a copy you would want to read, but to me, it is overall a nice copy.
