This is a low grade item. It will be complete and readable, but will show significant wear. Allowed defects for this grade include: spine roll, a moderate amount of staining or water damage, writing or other marks on the cover, up to one inch spine splits or other tears, a cover or centerfold that is detached at one staple, discoloration due to oxidation, and a minor piece or pieces missing. An item could be assigned this grade due to either an accumulation of minor/moderate defects or one or two major defects.

Description

Cover by Rudolph Dirks. Stories and art by Rudolph Dirks and Paul Berdanier. Sometimes listed as Comics on Parade Vol. 4 #4. Comics on Parade focused on a different United Features comic strip in every issue. This issue features the iconic pranksters Hans and Fritz and their hapless victim, the Captain. Inspired by George Washington, the Kids decide to tell the truth about their pranks. Mama swipes an ostrich\'s tail feathers for her hat, but the ostrich gets even. In the \"topper\" strip, Hawkshaw the Detective uses movies to identify the gang leader known as \"The Brains.\" The Captain and the Kids; Stamp Tips; Hawkshaw the Detective. 64 pages, Full Color.
