A piece of old Maine history plucked straight from an era where a teacher would educate various aged students in a one room school house. Students would tie their books together with their small sized chalk boards and walk miles to school. This wooden storage box would make the perfect display and remains sealed after all these years.

All crayon chalk boxes were gathered from an old general store at an estate in Newburgh , Maine. The chalk was packed in wooden dovetailed shipping crates equipped with a sliding top for the teachers to access , this is how the early one room school house would receive their crayon chalk supply.
