This beautifully detailed medal is high-quality post-war reproduction of the Prussian / German Imperial Iron Cross First Class (1914)of WWI. This is a vaulted "nickel silver" version of the medal, a style preferred by many “flying aces” during the war.It is made of a nickel / copper alloy. The medal is unpainted.

These medals were “private purchase” items, hand-crafted by skilled jewelers. This one is unique, it is unpainted. I have only one of these.

Please take note of the sturdy flat pin. Such a pin would be fed through two vertical loops sewn onto the tunic by a tailor.
