Offered here is a killer prepared pyritized brachiopod from the Waldron Shale Formation from Blue Springs Quarry (filled with water) in Waldron, Indiana; Silurian in age. The gorgeous brachiopod measures 7/8” wide. The other similar measures 5/8” wide. The matrix measures 2 1/2” x 2”. As you can see from the pictures, the brach has a beautiful pyrite coloration and is associated with a number of different types of brachs. It took 1 hour to prepare this piece using fine dolomite powder under a microscope. This beautiful piece was found about 20 years ago during the time we had a lease on part of the old Blue Springs Quarry outside Waldron, Indiana. Our quarry dig is full of water and no collecting allowed by the new land owner. If you have purchased multiple items, please do not send payment until I send an invoice.
