For sale is a massive, amazing sterling bolo tie by renown Navajoartist, Leonard Haskie, father of silversmith Vernon Haskie. Featuring an ornate engraved frame, depicting Native American symbolism, and a figure of a lone buffalo, the center of the sterling pendant is deeply set with a large, brilliant turquoise. Absolutely gorgeous matrix and color. The large pendant slide measures 3 3/8\" by 2 3/4\", and is marked sterling and with Leonard Haskies\' hallmark on the back side. The sterling bolo tips are also work of art, and each tip measures 3 1/4\" long.The chocolate brown braided leather strap is soft and supple and has always been well cared for and carefully stored, it is approximately 48\" finial to final, and is adjustable. The bolo, inclusive of all materials, weighs 117.75 grams.
This fabulous bolo tie is in excellent condition with little to no wear to the leather or the sterling. I have not cleaned or polished the work, and the patina is lovely.This is a museum quality piece, and photos truly do not do it justice.
