Imperial German World War I POUR LE MERITE Blue MaxNeck Order Decoration. The dimensions are 2” wide by 2” tall. The front reads‘POUR LE MERITE’ on each arm of the Blue Max. The upper arm shows a King’scrown with an ‘F’ below. There is a spread winged eagle in each corner. Thereverse side is blank with only blue enamel. Attached loop to the PLM ismaker marked with a ‘W’ for the manufacturing firm of Wagner & Sohn Berlin. The oblong suspension loop is also marked with a ‘W’. see photos. Includes the presentationneck order cloth woven cotton with silver bullion wire ribbon. This wasGermany’s highest award for gallantry in combat action above and beyond thecall of duty. Gold plated brass construction with powder blue enamel. ActorGeorge Peppard made this medal famous in the movie ‘The Blue Max’. Fine condition. Always happy to combineshipping.
