LARGE! Vintage Shigaraki Ware Dogwood Vase, Original Label, Signed - Japan.
Mesmerizing quality and craftmanship on the Shigaraki Ware vase that has no chips, cracks, nicks, scratches, or mars of any kind. The vase stands 12" high, 4" mouth, 3 1/2" base, and weighs 3#s 10 oz.
The dogwood flowers and buds are set with enamel-like paint, and the stems are etched. The rich chocolate brown finish is embellished with mottled gold flecks, and the area around the flowers is a beige toned tan. Internally, the vase is ribbed about 2/3 of the way up from the bottom to the top.
This piece retains its original label and is signed by the artist.
