LGE 10\" PAIR OF ANTIQUE MEISSEN PORCELAIN FIGURE GROUPS SEASONS STUNNIG RARE:

For sale here is this rare pair of antique Meissen porcelain allegorical figure groups, depicting Summer and Autumn (model number 1236) and Spring and Winter (model number 1222).

This superb and large pair measure approximately 10 inches high and 5 1/2 inches in diameter at the base. They are marked with crossed swords in underglaze blue with a slash beneath the marks. Summer and Autumn is also impressed with \"70\" and Spring and Winter is painted with the number 15 to the base. This superb pair are extremely well-modelled and painted.

The Spring and Winter group depicts a reclining boy, warming his hands over a small fire. The girl is sitting a the rocky base, beside a basket of flowers. She is holding small bunches of flowers in her hands. Rococo scrolls around the base.

The Summer and Autumn group depicts a reclining girl holding wheatsheaves, extending her hand out to the boy, who is holding a bunch of grapes above his head. He has a vine, covered in leaves and bunches of grapes, in the crook of his arm and is sitting on a rocky base, with rococo scrolls at the bottom.

THE SPRING AND WINTER GROUPS HAS VERY LITTLE REPAIRS , LIKE TOP OF THE FLAME, LEAVES,PLEASE SEE PICTURES FOR DETAILS THEY ARE PART OF DISCRIPTION AND ASK ANY QUESTIONS, IN MY OPINION THEY ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION FOR ITS AGE .
