Gorgeous antique 19thC Victorian era pastel portrait painting of a little girl! Original antique brass & gilt gesso frame with it's original wavy glass. Frame measures 41" by 29" by 2 1/2" depth; Sight measures approximately 29 1/2" by 23 1/2." Appears do be unsigned; Did not find artist signature.
Age related wear & tear with some minor losses to the edges (see pics) of the gesso frame. Portrait itself appears to be in excellent condition with possible age related toning and some dust behind the glass. Some very minor scratches and imperfections to the glass. We did not examine this painting outside it's frame, (still has it's original green paper backing) so not sure what surface it's painted on. Glass & painting have some minor movement within the frame. Definitely a painting, not a lithograph. Possibly a memorial portrait.
Overall, this painting is in very nice original antique condition & the glass has kept it well protected for the past 120+ years! Would look great hanging in your restored Victorian parlor or front hall!
