Captain Lewis Alonzo Yancey [1895 1940] was an American aviation pioneer, naval officer and noted navigator who began his aviation career in 1925. In 1929, Yancey and Roger Q. Williams made a historic flight from Old Orchard Beach, Maine to Rome, Italy. Theirflight landed in Rome after 31 hours and was greeted by huge crowds, similarto those who greeted Lindbergh. Yancey is also well known for his flights in a Pitcairn Autogyro where he toured the United States, Central America and the Caribbean. Yancey was also the author of several books on aviation and died in 1940 at the age of 44.Listed for sale is the autograph of Lewis Alonzo Yancey signed on a card. The autograph is signed \'\'Lewis A. Yancey\'\' in black fountain pen. The card measures 5.00 x 3.00 inches,is in fine condition and will be accompanied with its original transmittal envelope.
