NAPOLEON BONAPARTE, Emperor of France, large document signed pardoning Pierre LeCompagnon, convicted on July 9, 1789 and beaten for the theft of a gold cross from a woman. Napoleon signs from Tuileries Palace on New Year's Day, January 1, 1810 as Emperor, along with the Duc de Massa, Cambacérès, and the Duc de Bassano. Just 9 days later, his divorce from Josephine would become final on January 10, 1810.
Tuileries was one of the direct witnesses of the history of France: during the uprising of 1789, Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette took refuge in the palace after the revolutionaries had taken them back to the palace of Versailles. Napoleon himself took up residence in the Tuileries palace in Paris after appointing himself Emperor in 1804.
Just six short years later, 1810 was a transitional year for the 40-year old French Emperor;After divorcing Joséphine (who did not have any children with Napoleon) in 1809, Napoleon marries Marie-Louise, daughter of the Emperor of Austria. The following year, Marie-Louise would bear him a son – Napoleon II, the future Duke von Reichstadt.
