WORKING DESCRIPTION:This game is fully working and plays great! The monitor has an amazing picture - bright, colorful, sharp, perfectly converged - it\'s hard to find a monitor with a better picture frankly.
The sound on this game and this cabinet is incredible. I normally wouldn\'t even mention it, but honestly it\'s one of the things that stands out on this thing when I was preparing it for . The bass is so powerful and solid, and no distortion whatsoever. This is particularly relevant to mention because it is getting rare to find an X-men with sound at all. Why, you ask? Well, Konami, in their infinite wisdom, decided to save money by developing this stupid sound amplifier hybrid chip that they would use on all games from this era. They used surface mount capacitors on it to cut costs further. The problem is that when these caps die and start leaking, after 10-15 years, they are extremely difficult to replace and they also often damage the PCB beyond repair. Well, this X-Men board has been sent to my private, secret Konami board repair expert (don\'t even ask...he\'s mine and I won\'t share him). My guy completely refurbished this board including the sound hybrid and it should be good now for decades.
The controls all work perfectly and the game really plays well. BTW, the control panel does come off easily with three bolts and 4 connectors, so you can get it in your vehicle and your house and your basement no problem.
The coin doors have new LED bulbs in all 4 coin slots, as well as 4 working quarter coin mechs.
This game is a bonafide classic that really should be in any classic arcade or barcade. If you don\'t have it in yours, please give serious consideration to this game. I am telling you this for your own good. I mean, the game will earn enough to pay for itself over time. And while it\'s doing that, it will only increase in value. It really is a no-brainer. Dare I say the biggest no-brainer in the history of Earth? No, that title is held by some company that advertises on the radio...I think it was for home refinancing. Boy, that is not a business that works in the current environment. Anyway...check out this X-men.
Another thing to mention is that this was actually originally a Konami TMNT cabinet. When that game stopped earning, the original operator bought a complete X-Men kit and converted it to X-men. It is the exact same cabinet that Konami would have used for X-men. The nice thing is that the original TMNT artwork is underneath the X-Men side decals. So you could peel the art off and have a super nice TMNT cabinet, if that is what you wanted. I\'m not sure which game is a better game, or which game is worth more, so not sure if it matters.

The cabinet is very nice, solid with no water damage or other problems. The artwork looks excellent on both sides. There are a few small tears in the sideart on each side. But otherwise it\'s exceptional.
The marquee and bezel are basically perfect. The CPO is excellent as well.
The coin doors on this game look like they are new. Absolutely perfect condition, and have new locks and new LED bulbs as well. There is only one of the two coin boxes, but if that\'s an issue, I can find another one for you.
The cabinet has the original back door in good shape.
