Up for sale is this beautiful, old, footed, round Chinese porcelain bowl. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This piece rests on a small foot. The famille rose style decoration was done in colorful glazes. There is some nice color shading. The interior is turquoise. The exterior is multicolored, with a turquoise background. Its decoration includes flowers and foliage. This item stands approximately 2 1/4 inches tall. It has a maximum diameter of about 4 9/16 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 5.0 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of Asian decorative arts.Identification
This piece has a hand painted "CHINA" mark beneath, as shown. The exact age is not known, but it is either vintage or possibly antique.Condition
The bowl looks very good overall, with no chips. It has light wear, with some fine scratches. There is fine, unstained crazing. Under magnification, I found a very fine, short (about 1/2 inch long), unstained hairline crack from the rim down. This is visible in Photo 4, below the stem of the left-most large pink flower, where the white glaze meets the turquoise glaze at the rim. As made, there are variations in decoration and glaze application, with thicker and thinner glaze areas.Please review the description and photos, and ask any necessary questions prior to offerding or buying.Terms of Sale1.
