ORIGINAL CIVIL WAR 1864 $30 CONFEDERATE $1000 BOND COUPON + LEE / JACKSON STAMP:

Here is a genuine (not a reprint)1864 $30 Civil War Confederate bond interest receipt. During that time, whenever someone bought a bond to support the war effort, they would receive a large bond (in this case, a $1000 bond) with 60 small interest bearingreceipts attached to it. Every 6 months, a receipt would be removed from the bond and redeemed for the amount specified (so the due date on the bond you received might vary from the one pictured). These receipts measure approx. 3" x 1-1/2", are hand-numbered and have the printed signature of Robert Tyler, the son of John Tyler, the 10th President of the United States. Printed by the Archer printing company of Richmond, Virginia. A very interesting piece of history at a very affordable price!

Please note: These bond receipts are in very nice presentable condition for their age (over 150 years old!), but most have some very minor bends, folds, creases, or other tiny imperfections which are typical for these bonds or any other paper this old. Absolutely no tears or other major faults.

Also included isa genuine U.S. postage stamp, issued in 1937, featuring Confederate Generals Robert E Lee & Stonewall Jackson, in mint condition.

Both items will be sent in an archival-quality protective display card.
