Grade VF Year 1987 Publisher Marvel

This is a mid grade item. It will have a few minor defects and will generally appear to be in "slightly used" but not "roughly used" condition. Most comics, magazines, and books published in the past 30 years that have been read but carefully handled and stored will fall in this grade range. Allowed defects for this grade include: minor corner wear (bends and blunting), a light accumulation of spine wear that may include color-breaking stresses, a light accumulation of dents, and bends or folds less than one quarter inch in length. Some color breaking is allowed in a bend or fold in this grade range.

Description

Note about "Newsstand" vs "Direct" editions: some comics printed during this time period were published for sale in both the direct market (comic stores) and at newsstand locations such as grocery stores or convenience stores. In many cases, the only difference between the two versions is the presence of either a barcode or small logo where the barcode would otherwise be. Most collectors consider both versions to be of equal value. If the only difference is the presence of the logo or the barcode, we do not distinguish between newsstand or direct editions, so it is possible that the comic you receive could have a barcode even if our listing image shows a logo, or vice versa.

In cases where there is a significant difference between the newsstand and direct editions, such as one having a foil cover, different color scheme, or other clear variation, we will list the newsstand and direct editions as two separate listings and they will be clearly labeled as such, so you will be able to select which version you want.

Charles Xavier is a powerful mutant whose dream is that mutants and humans can coexist in peace. To protect this dream against those who would destroy it he formed the X-Men, but when the original team goes missing on a mission Professor X unites a new team of champions. This index breaks down the heroes, villains, storylines, and the talents that brought them to you. Issue #4 gives the run down on Uncanny X-Men #67-96, Amazing Adventures #11-17, Giant Size X-Men #1-2. Though featuring mostly reprints, this once thought dead series hit #94 and with Giant Size #1 a new group of mutants was introduced to the world. Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Wolverine, and the ill-fated Thunderbird would strike a cord with audiences that still resinates to this day. Information compiled by George Olshevsky.
