The item is vintage. The statue is hand carved of Sandalwood by a talented artist (see photos). The statue is from India and the figure represents the Hindu Goddess Saraswati (see photos). Saraswati is the Hindu goddess of knowledge. She is the Hindu Goddess that is associated with wisdom, music, art, and learning. She is one of the three main goddesses of Hinduism, along with Lakshmi and Parvati. Together, the three goddesses are called the Tridevi. The item is from an estate liquidation. This item measures in total about 18.75 inches high including the base, it is about 3.2 inches deep from the front edge to the back side at the base, and it is about 5.75 inches wide from side to side at the base. The item has some wear (see photos and / or written description for the condition of this item).
