For sale we have a beautiful original shaded lite to medium green or citron Mason\'s CFJ 1858 quart fruit or canning jar. The color is a nice shaded yellowish green or citron with darker subtle swirled amber striations throughout the jar. The color is darker in the thick parts of the glass. The amber striations are thicker and more pronounced in the base area. There is a nice subtle striation that goes through the word Mason and down threw the CFJ. The embossing is decent with the embossing being the thick lettered style. The lip is ground and in decent condition. We see a flat sliver area on the top of the lip that is smooth and has a small chip on the side of the area. This is in the making and mentioned for accuracy. We pictured this area. The zinc lid is period with no issues. The base is embossed with a thick bar and the number 131. The jars condition is decent with no cracks, deep scratches or scuffs and no stains. This jar has not been dug cleaned or altered. We only see some scattered thin usage wear lines and some heavy base wear. These are seen in strong lighting.
