Original1921 color lithographed map of the United States showing named trails,airplane routes, andnational camps, printed more than 100years ago.

The image area measures 32.5 x 50.4 cm [12¾" x 19¾"], and the map iscopyrighted 1921in the lower margin.
It was compiled by the L.L. Poates Engraving Company, NewYork.
Before the federal highway numbering system wasimplemented, major automobile routes were knownand marked as "named trails."
Among the ones labeled on the map are theLincoln Highway, Midland Trail,Pacific Highway, Wonderland Trail, Camino Real, Southern Highway, andBlack & Yellow Trail.
Named national camps, also known as forts or militarybases, includeBeauregard, Kearney, Cody, Macarthur, Jackson,Dix, Mills, Upton, and Lewis.
Marked aeroplane routes also include distances in miles.
Condition: This map is in excellentcondition, bright and clean, with two vertical folds, asissued, and nomarks, rips, or tears. Please see the scans and feel free to ask anyquestions.
