Original 1927 Irish Vickers M27 Helmet Stamped H6578 ☘️ WW1 German Design:

Extremely Rare Irish Free State Vickers M27 Helmet with chinstrap rivet for sale. Which was a direct copy of the WW1 M16 German Stalhelm design. The Vickers company was contracted by the Irish army to manufacture these helmets and only produced 10,021 of them.

The helmet is in remarkable condition for its age. Which a great original unaltered colour and appearance!

An even greater fact was that this doesn’t appear to be altered for civil defence during ww2. Where most of these were painted with a white overture. Which lends more credit to this helmets unaltered originality.

It even has a single chin strap rivet remaining.

And has some other little maker stampings

What’s even rarer about this piece is that the Vickers markings are extremely visible and sharp. And can be located on the inside of the helmet out on the rear skirt.

The helmet is overall in great shape. Some rust here and there & some dents and bruises. But the thing is nearly 100 years old & is one of the highest grade ones you’ll see of these. (That’s if one ever comes up for sale again)
