A rare pictorial map of Northern Greenwich Connecticut, This is a companion piece to an earlier 1939 map of coastal Greenwich by Roger Selchow.Amazing bevy of events and facts that took place in the region during the American revolutionary war. Selchow identifies which houses were blunder and burnt by the British, the sites of skirmishes including Mrs. Howe’s place and where Isreal Putnam went to dance before Tyron’s raid. Apart from the Revolution we have illustrations of flowers, trees, fences, farmers, horseback riders and wildlife to provide charm and character.This map is not a reproduction and it is very rare! There are only a few of the original issues From 1948 to speak of;’one is held in the Library of Congress and the other in the Beinecke Rare Book Room at Yale.
