This lot features a beautiful display of an authentic Allegheny Arsenal saddle tag. It is house in a double-matted display that includes a period photo of the arsenal prior to its destruction.There was a massive explosion at the arsenal on September 17,1862 that would have dominated national headlines had it not been for the Battle of Antietam fought that same day.
