Originalantique steel engraved view of the Buffalo waterfront, with sailingships inthe near distance and soldiers in uniform disembarking at the shore, printedmorethan 170 years ago.

The image also shows acouple of horse-drawn wagonsand a man with a feathered hat observing the proceedings through histelescope.
The image area measures 11.5 x 17.8 cm [4½" x 7"], andtheengraving is titled A View of the Port of Buffaloe on LakeErie.
It was copied from the original engraving published inthe August 1815 issue of ThePort Folioand was engraved and printed by Gavit & Duthie.
It waspublished in Volume Two ofTheDocumentaryHistory of the State of NewYork, Edmund Bailey O'Callaghan, Albany, New York, 1849.
