This is a rather rare cap from the Taiwanese Army, historically known as Nationalist China and officially the Republic of China. After their retreat to Taiwan, the remnant Nationalist Chinese forces received much military aid from US advisors, and as a result, some of their uniforms would also start to resemble their American counterparts. Caps like these were probably manufactured around the 1960s, with a shift towards a more American look, but still retaining the same style as the same caps worn by Nationalist Chinese troops during later WWII and the ensuing Chinese Civil War, consisting of a Kuomintang cockade and a simple chinstrap.
The inside is undated, but has some interesting writing on the visor, presumably a faded name and the letters “MP” next to it, possibly military police. The exterior is sun-bleached from service wear and is in overall spotless shape. The hat visor does not hold its shape, as the insert inside the visor is fractured. There is also one small tear on the plastic sweatband. The rest of the interior is sound, having a nice, weathered look. A really cool and definitely scarce early to mid Cold War piece.
