Fabulous PAIR Antique French Bouillotte hand painted table lamps.

Made in France, each with adjustable tole metal shade, two candle holders, and gold hand painted detailing on a beautiful Burgundy Red ground.

One lamp’s brass shade rod is slightly higher than the other.

Originally designed for the French card game Bouillotte that was popular during the 18th and 19th century—similar to the modern game of poker—the Bouillotte lamp sat in the center of the playing table. As the game progressed, the lamp’s adjustable shade was moved accordingly to focus light on the cards at hand.

Condition: Very Good, wear consistent with age. Presents with craquelure to paint on shades.
