Pair Antique Victorian Necktie Glove Dresser Boxes Celluloid Embossed 1800s:

Two antique vanity dresser necktie boxes from the late 1800s - the fancy and extravagant Victorian era

One has raised embossed yellow front with the “Neckties” on it and a pretty green contrasting floral paper covering the box It has its original silk lining but as you can see it has some stains and wear from surviving the last 149 years or so! The other box has a lovely top and the original hardware clasp but is also showing signs of its age. Some of the paper torn I sprinkled baking soda inside to absorb musty smell - and it is much improved but there is still a faint bit of must. The silk linings have seen better days but the silk fabric original material is intact The outside has some peeling - but even as is - they are pretty and are wonderful as is, a true piece of long-ago history!

I have tired to include a lot of photos as these are the best descriptions. In spite of age, both boxes are sturdy and open and close with ease!

Could be displayed as is, or restored, or used as theater or movie props!

The larger box is about 13” and the smaller about 12” long
