Details

• Description: A pair of beautiful vintage pewter candlestick holders. The candlestick holders have round flat base with a nice classical shaped body in the form of a tall funnel ending in a top opening with slightly upwards flared rim. The opening where the candle would fit has thread to ensure the candle will be secure in place. These classically designed candlestick holders are rather substantial weighing almost 13 ounces a piece. The pieces are nicely tones with a beautiful warm silver gray patina and are well preserved. The candlestick holders have a caution lable attached to the base. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
• Date: Uncertain but most likely mid to late 20th century.
• Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
• Size: Each piece measures ~3 3/4" in diameter at the base and is ~ 4" high. Bothe pieces together weigh one pound 10 ounces.
• Maker: Reed and Barton
• Marks: Impressed on the bottom "Reed & Barton Pewter P214" on the base. The candlestick holders have a caution lable attached to the base.
• Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A lot of vintage pieces of beautiful pewter which would display very well. A pair of high quality pieces worthy of adding to your collection.
• Condition: The candlesticks are in very good condition with no breaks, repairs or significant dings that we could find. Both pieces have light scratches throughout, some minor stains throughout which would most likely clean very well. There is also small amounts of wax residue in the holes where the candles would fit and over the entire body but again a good cleaning would take care of that. Be that as it may, the pieces are very nice and would display very well in your collection or in your home as decorative accents.
